PCAS Activities: Library and Laboratory Sessions
The PCAS Library
PCAS maintains an extensive collection of local reports and reference materials. These materials can be viewed by the public during regular hours. PCAS members can borrow most items for a limited time period.
Collections generated by local excavations are cleaned, studied, labeled, recorded, and prepared for storage by PCAS members. In 1977, the Orange County Board of Supervisors designated the Pacific Coast Archaeological Society as the official curator of archaeological materials for the County. The Society was given use of a room in the historic Old Courthouse in Santa Ana for lab work and library display. Members have helped prepare exhibits for schools, museums, and other community display areas.
Please contact PCAS Curator Sandy Schneeberger at firstname.lastname@example.org or 562-691-1357 if you are interested in volunteering to assist with curation.
